Solar rotation videos (i.e., Solar rotation videos):
1. 85 Days Of Solar Rotation [720p] (2010.06.02 - 2010.08.26) | 1:19: A false color extreme ultraviolet video. It does NOT show differential rotation clearly. Overall too long for the classroom, but it's pretty, and so show a few seconds to the classroom.
2. How the Sun's Magnetic Field Winds up and Loops Out | 0:13: Differential rotation causes complex magnetic field effects. The period at the equator is 25 days (implying relatively fast angular rotation) and near the poles, 36 days (implying relatively slow angular rotation). The varying speed of rotation is evidenced by the winding up to magnetic field which eventually breaks down into complex field before reordering. Yours truly will NOT swear to the accuracy of this video. Short enough for the classroom.
3. Sun - Differentional rotation of plasma | 4:57: Mostly on magnetic field effects. Good animations. Too long for the classroom.
