Caption: "Artist's conception of how ring particles clump together within Saturn's rings based on conclusions from the Cassini spacecraft (1997--2017)." (Slightly edited.)
As we know, Saturn's rings are a very special class of planetary rings.
Most planetary rings are dark rings.
Saturn's rings may formed from a tidal force break up of an icy moon that spiraled in to close or an impactor shattered an icy moon of Saturn and the rings are the debris (HI-212).
