OBJECT: SN 1986G Ia in NGC 5128 (S0). In Leda it is
         NGC 5128 (Leda).
DISCOVERY: 1986may3.5 UT by Evans (1986)
          CfA List of Supernovae.
MAXIMUM: 1986may11.0 +/- 1 (JD 2446561.5) in B (phillips1987).
See the US Navy Observatory Julian Date Converter.
This day of the year 131.
SUPERNOVA of the YEAR: 7.

COMMENTS: A cool (CL) SN Ia, but not an extreme cool.

HEADER: Header Common header information for this supernova.
The common header may be updated relative to information given here
         (D. J. Jeffery (2007jan01)).

SPECTRUM LOG:

JD times for the SN 1986g spectra of phillips1987 and cristiani1992.

     Bmax JD 2446561.5 +/- 0.5 (phillips1987) (1986may11.0) and cristiani1992 uses the same date.

I believe all the spectra are observer frame.

The cristiani1992 JDs may be rounded off to midnight UT unless they really were taking
data near midnight UT which in Chile would be 8:00pm local time which
near the winter solstice could be quite dark.
The phillips1987g spectra were also taken in Chile and were mostly not far from
     UT midnight.
