Kepler lived in Linz 1612--1626 (see Wikipedia: Johannes Kepler: Linz and elsewhere (1612--1630); Wikipedia: Johannes Kepler: Rudolphine Tables and his last years). He left when Linz was besieged in the Thirty Years' War (1618--1648).

The Johannes Kepler University of Linz is named in Kepler's honor.
