studying astronomy, astrology, and medicine in 1501--1503.
One should note that in those days astrology was considered a
necessary qualification for medicine: a doctor had to be able
predict the effect of the stars on health.
Galileo was a professor of
mathematics and astronomy at the
University of Padua from 1592--1610.
