    NGC 4622 is at 34 Mpc and is Hubble type Sab pec where "pec" stands for peculiar.

    NGC 4622 is peculiar in that its spiral arms are leading---they point IN the direction of orbital rotation---rather than trailing

    There is one inner spiral arm that is trailing---which is normal for spiral galaxies.

    NGC 4622 is sofar unique in having leading spiral arms.

    The leading spiral arms are may be the result of some complex interaction or merger event in the past.
