Caption: An artist's conception of an astronaut falling into a black hole and undergoing spaghettification.
Really, they are NOT stretched, they are ripped apart by the super tidal force that occurs near a black hole either OUTSIDE or INSIDE the event horizon.
The ripping apart is humorously referred to as spaghettification---as once said Gomez Addams "either way, what a pleasure".
Actual ripping apart of astronomical objects (e.g., stars) are called tidal disruption events (TDEs).
