Caption: Anubis weighing the heart of Hunefer (fl. circa 1300 BCE) in the Papyrus of Hunefer, a copy of Book of the Dead. Location: The British Museum.
The scene can be compared to a similar scene in the Papyrus of Ani, another copy of Book of the Dead.
Anubis is the jackal-headed Eygptian god. He straddles the line between anthropomorphic god and NOT anthropomorphic god. He is sometimes portrayed just as a jackal.
However, Anubis is an anthropomorphic god psychologically no matter what his physical appearance.
