Summer Undergraduate Research in Physics
The UNLV Physics Department is now accepting applications

Students must have completed their sophomore or
junior year, with at least one year of physics courses.
A student who will graduate by the summer of 2002
is not eligible. Students must be U. S. citizens,
nationals, or permanent residents, majoring in physical
sciences or engineering. Physics majors will be

good grades, the willingness to work hard, and an
interest in science and in research. Previous laboratory
experience is helpful but not essential. The program
runs for 10 weeks (June 3-August 9). A nationally
competitive stipend will be offered.
To apply, send a copy of your transcript, an application,
and arrange to have two letters of recommendation
