Yikes! - the following = was not=20 included in the October announcements, and is rapidly = approaching:
 
November 3rd (Friday) - Barn = Dance at Blue=20 Diamond
 
For those who had such a great time at = the CHAC=20 dance last Saturday, or those who missed that Halloween dance, there is = another=20 opportuunity to contra dance on this Friday night, November 3rd, = in Blue=20 Diamond.  The dance will be held in the Blue Diamond Recreation = Center,=20 which is in the center of town, near the store (directions are provided=20 below).  The Blue Diamond = community "trying=20 out" contra dancing to see if it is something that they would like to = offer more=20 regularly to their residents.  The dance is open to anyone, and = will be of=20 the same cost and structure as the CHAC dance: live music by "112, = and Then=20 Some", lesson at 6:30 pm, and dancing from 7 to 10pm.  However, if = a lot of=20 children show up, we will cater to them early in the program.  We = did a=20 dance out there in June, and had lots of fun.  So, pack up the = dancing=20 shoes, and start the weekend off with an energetic evening with the Blue = Diamond=20 folks.

Directions:  The=20 town of Blue Diamond is accessed via Rte. 159, which, on its northern = end, is=20 the westward continuation of Charleston Blvd., and from the south, turns = off of=20 Rte. 160 as the latter starts up the grade to 'go over the hump to=20 Pahrump'.  From Rte.159, there are two turnoffs that take you into = the town=20 of Blue Diamond.  The most direct route to the BD rec. center = is to=20 take the more northern turnoff, which is the first one encountered if = coming=20 from the Charleston Blvd approach, and the 2nd one if coming from the = south=20 (Rte. 160).  The directions below are given for the northern = turnoff,=20 "Castalia Street".  On Castalia, go across the bridge, and take the = first=20 left onto "Diamond St" (after making the turn, the ball diamond = will be on=20 left, post office on the right).  Go short distance to the stop = sign=20 (village store will be on the right), which is the intersection with = "Village=20 Blvd".  Look to the left, and the red quonset hut, aka recreation = center,=20 is about 50 ft. down the street ("Village"), on the other side.  = Park=20 wherever you can find space, or on the street. =20
    If you take the southern entrance = to town,=20 the "Arroyo Rd" turnoff, stay on Arroyo and go past three=20 intersections with streets from the left. After the 3rd = intersection=20 ("Allegro Street"), turn left onto "Lassen" (Arroyo Rd. = basically ends=20 at that point)  After making the left turn, take the next right=20 ("Village"), and the rec center will be on the left, after a little dip = in the=20 road.  If needing a map, go to Google Maps,  http://ww= w.google.com/maphp?hl=3Den&tab=3Dwl&q=3D=20 and type in "Blue Diamond, NV

Turn left on Diamond,
