The annual meeting of the Southern = Nevada Old-Time=20 Contra Dancers, which was mentioned in the August e-mail with a TBD = September=20 date has been set for August 26, at 5:15 at the Reed Whipple Cultural=20 Center, before the Old Time Barn Dance. The meeting will = be held=20 in the same room as the dance, in the dance room on the first=20 floor. If you are a member of SNOCD, you have received a = separate=20 announcement. If you are not a member of SNOCD and would like to = influence=20 dance events and policy, here's your chance to run for the SNOCD Board = of=20 Directors, which is the governing body of the = organization. Half of=20 the 12 positions on the Board of Directors are up for change, as well as = all the=20 officers. If you wish to be considered, notify Cel Acosta at = 641-7467=20 by August 24th. SNOCD members elect the Board, and = the=20 Board, in turn, elects the officers from their midst for the next=20 year. Only members can vote, but anyone can become a member at the = meeting,=20 in order to vote, and only members can serve on the Board.
