Just a reminder that tonight, 12/17, is = your last=20 opportunity to "kick up your heels" at a barn dance in Las Vegas in=20 2005. We'll help with the Holiday weight watching in two = ways:  with 3=20 1/2 hours of exercise, and if you have some sinful tempting holiday = goodies=20 hanging out in your kitchen, bring them along with you to the = dance, and=20 share them with others.  Also, feel free to wear holiday finery - = if it=20 allows you to dance!  The entry to the December dance in 1/2 price = if you=20 become a paying member of the Southern Nevada Old Time Contra Dancers = (SNOCD)=20 for 2006.  The yearly dues are $10 per person, or $15 for a family=20 package.

Directions:  CHAC is one block west of = Arizona=20 Charlies, and 2 blocks northwest of the intersection of W. Charleston = Blvd. and=20 Decatur Blvd. From Highway 95, take the Decatur exit, go south on = Decatur for 4=20 stoplights, and turn right on Evergreen St.  This is the street = between the=20 Arizona Charlie's Casino and their parking lot to the south.  Go = west on=20 Evergreen, and at the first stop sign, turn left onto Brush St.  = CHAC is=20 the 2nd building on the right.
 
 
Sunday night (12/18) is = Israeli=20 dancing:

  • Location:  the Israeli Cultural Center at=20 Or-Bamidbar, 2991 Emerson Avenue. From Desert Inn and Eastern, = go=20 south one block to Emerson.  Go east on Emerson to the = very=20 end.  There is another Jewish synagogue in the 2700 block, = but=20 that is not the end of the street!  Keep going!

    Directions:  The library is between = Maryland=20 Parkway and Eastern Ave., on the south side of the street.  The = library=20 entrance that is close to the Jewel Box theatre is the door closest to = the=20 intersection of Flamingo and Escondido.  Inside the door, turn = left, go=20 down a short flight of stairs, and the Jewel Box is the room on your=20 right.
