[Acoustic Routes] for an incredible night of music as presented by =
Heather=20
Alexander and Uffington Horse. No one plays traditional Celtic =
tunes quite=20
like Heather and her own original work is an unusual twist to the =
music of=20
her roots. Show time is 8 PM, THURSDAY, OCTOBER 6th. (Notice =
the=20
day. Not our usual show night.) Tickets are $11 in =
advance on=20

=93What more =
can I say=20
about Heather Alexander and her work? It's some of the best music, =
Celtic or=20
otherwise, I've ever come across." =20
-Michael M. Jones, =93The Green Man Review=94
Heather=20
Alexander, a fiery Celtic, redheaded multi-instrumentalist with a =
commanding=20
stage presence and mesmerizing voice, formed the trio Uffington Horse =
with the=20
amazing rhythms of Dan "DanO" Ochipinti and solid, melodic bass lines of =
Andrew=20
Hare, after their chance performance together in another =
band.
Uffington=20
Horse has been performing since 1999 in the Northwest. Their mix of =
Heather=92s=20
original songs and traditional tunes put to a rock and roll beat bring =
to mind=20
British bands Fairport Convention or Steeleye Span, but with a modern =
style that=20
is all their own. Their sound has been described as "Afro-Celt Sound =
System with=20
Grace Slick as lead singer."
The fantastic and mythic aspects of =
their=20
music combined with their kicking renditions of traditional Irish and =
Scottish=20
tunes inspire fans of all ages. They have returned to the Kelso =
Highlander=20
Festival for the past four years, have performed at numerous private =
functions=20
and are often enjoyed at local casinos.
Heather has six published =
albums=20
on her own label, Sea Fire Productions. Her latest album is the solo =
work,=20
"Festival Wind," recorded live in 2002. Uffington Horse=92s first =
Celtic-World=20
Rock album "Enchantment" was released in September of 2004.
