If you are looking for something a little different, = consider=20 attending "First Friday in the Arts District of Las Vegas" and join = Cheryl=20 Slater at Blue Sky Yoga.  Cheryl will be leading a free yoga set at = 8:30 PM=20 that is intended to be open to anyone and at all levels of experience.=20

Cedar City this weekend, August = 6-7, with=20 Ethnic Express:  The international folk dancers are making = their=20 annual trek to Cedar City to take in some plays, and dance Saturday = night with=20 the local folk dancers.  Individuals are reponsible for own = arrangements.=20 If interested in Saturday night dance location, call 732-4871 before = Friday=20 morning, or send a return e-mail with request.

Saturday=20 August 13th 
Ibn Asheer = Institute, the=20 Interfaith Council of Southern Nevada, and the Muslim Community of Las = Vegas=20 presents: a benefit concert and dinner, featuring the spiritual rhythms = of=20 Yassir Chadly, Morocco=92s premier Sufi musician. The concert and dinner = are free=20 and open to the public. Donations are encouraged to benefit the drought = victims=20 of Niger. Program begins at 6 pm, at the Moyer Student Union Ball Room = on the=20 campus of UNLV. Seating is limited, so reserve your place early.

The dinner show is part of the United Religions Initiative/North = American=20 Interfaith Network annual convention taking place August 12 =96 August = 16 at UNLV.=20 The program for Saturday evening focuses on the Islamic culture, cuisine = and=20 music. A talk on the Islamic culture will also be presented by renowned = Islamic=20 scholar, Hamza Yusuf.

This is an event you won=92t want to miss. Yassir Chadly has been = performing=20 traditional Moroccan music since 1972. His musical expression ranges = from the=20 melodic love songs of the Moroccan and Egyptian traditions, to the = powerful,=20 spiritual rhythms of the religious music of the Gnawa, the Sufi = musicians=20 originally from sub-Saharan Africa. He has recorded CD's with Randy = Weston,=20 Dizzy Gillespie, Stephen Kent, and Steve Coleman. He is also featured on = two=20 recent Omar Sosa recordings, "Prietos" and "Sentir", and has performed = with Mr.=20 Sosa since 2001.
