I'm certainly willing to consider that my ``best answers'' may not always be clearly best and change my marking scheme if necessary. But I'll need a moment to reflect on the matter. Quiz questions are posted on the bulletin board in the AMG hallway. Quiz answers are eposted at the section webpage. \hafskip \item{\itemc.} On the marks assigned to {\bf activity reports}: Recall that the marking is out of 100$\,$\% in 5$\,$\% increments. I'm not going to consider arguments for changes in marks of 10$\,$\% or less. If you believe you deserve a higher mark (or hypothetically a lower mark), you have to think the adjustment needed is big ($\geq15\,$\%). The reports are to be rough and ready, and so is the grading. And even if I spent hours grading, I couldn't achieve perfect consistency. \hafskip \item{} The activity mark is based mainly on the {\bf Results and Conclusions Section} and on any graphs or tables that need to be done. It will be awfully easy to lose $5\,$\% for a first mistake in these items. After that first mistake, the marking gets more lenient. \hafskip \item{} {\bf CLEAN-UP} is required before leaving AMG~121. Make sure chairs are back in place, the equipment is neatly arranged on tables where found or returned to its appropriate place, and waste materials have been trashed. The entire group gets docked $5\,$\% on an activity if your table is not left in order. \hafskip \item{\itemc.} Marks are {\bf eposted} at the section webpage given above and in hardcopy outside WPS~213. A {\bf negative mark} is one that is permanently or temporarily discounted. Students are urged to check their marks regularly. Given that there are two marked items per full day, the marking is being done on the fly (in multi-tasking mode), and the confusion between names and aliases, the chance of marks going astray is a bit higher than usual. \hafskip \item{\itemc.} The {\bf basic grading scale} that applies to all sections is: $90+\,$\% A, $80+\,$\% B, $70+\,$\% C, $60+\,$\% D, and $60-\,$\% F. The grade bounds may be adjusted at the end of the course if that seems appropriate. \hafskip \bye
