Recitations are only voluntary recall and students can always seek help from the instructors in office hours. Mine are on my instructor's schedule.
I try to be available for students at other times too, but all mornings are bad for me.
The recitation will be run in groups of two to four---if this works out.
The students collaborate to help each other with material and homework problems. They do NOT copy from each other though---helping a person through all the steps and comparing answers is good---straight copying is bad.
Students will form their own groups and the leader/instructor will note those down.
The leader/instructor will circulate helping the groups on questions. The leader/instructor will sometimes work some problems at the board for everyone.
The questions will likely be mainly on homework problems.
Homeworks will usually be due on Wednesdays, but the due dates for particular homeworks may have to be set to other days to accord with where we are in the material.
Students ideally should get most/all problems done before the recitation, but undergraduates pioneered just-in-time delivery before anyone else.
