Instructions: Homeworks are usually assigned on a Monday and due on the following Monday, either in class or at the instructor's office by 5:00 pm. Solutions to the homework problems will be eposted (at the course section webpage schedule) or wall-posted (outside the class room), or both. Numerical answers will usually only be worked out to 1 digit accuracy. Using a calculator to get an answer causes me ennui.

Note: The questions were originally written in the TeX mark-up language, not in html (hyper-text mark-up language), and an exact translation to html is not yet possible. Some TeXisms remain, but students should be able to interpret them.
