  2. Required Preparation for Section 9, but it is suggested for all sections plus whatever your section instructor requires.

    1. Read Lab 13. Their will be some new instructions with the lab.
    2. Read a sufficient amount of the articles linked to the following terms etc. so that you can define and/or understand the terms etc. at the level of our class: absolute magnitude, apparent magnitude, distance modulus, light-year, luminosity, open cluster, parsec, photometry, Pleiades, star cluster, zero-age main sequence (ZAMS).
    3. Write out the definitions required in Part A of Lab 13.

    Suggested Supplementary Preparation. The items are often alternatives to the required preparation.
