      Derived maximum in some band is  (see above).

OBS:  {filippenko1990} ????.   I got the spectrum from Stefano Benetti, but the note suggests it
      originally came from Alex.   The spectrum agrees in a appearance exactly as one can tell
      with \citet{filippenko1992}'s Figure 2 spectrum and the contrast of the Ca II IR triplet is 4 
      in both spectra.  So I'd say we have a match.  My spectrum doesn't slope down to the blue,
      and so it must be f_lambda not f_nu as in \citet{filippenko1992} I suppose. 
       \citet{filippenko1992}'s Ca II IR triplit line minimum is at about 8150 A in rest wavelength
      and when I blueshift mine it is at about 8000 A.
      Now (5000/300000)*8000=(5/3)*80=135 A.
      So I believe this spectrum has already been deredshifted. 
      

Date: 1990sep27 (270) with 1990sep10 +/- 4 (253) for visible maximum gives:
      day = 270 - 253 = 17

I believe this spectrum has already been dereddshifted, but iformat<0 means no correction. ymin2=.2 ymax2=2.5 ymin3=.35 ymax3=1.65 wlammin1=3815.0 wlammax1=9665.0 wlammin2=3815.0 wlammax2=9665.0 wlammin3=3815.0 ! The blue end may be good. It may be driving down to the Ca H&K trough. See {filippenko1992} Figure 2. wlammax3=9665.0 ! The red may be OK as far as I can tell. /

Information from somewhere. This may the spectrum mentioned by Filippenko & Shields in IAUC 5111. That was sep27, but the wavelenghs arn't quite the same. But I got this one from Stefano. So maybe it's Italian and of the same date.
