A plot of solar composition in mass fraction is given below. Below the plot is a table with number fraction (normalized to Si at 1.e+6) and mass fraction.
The solar metallicity from Asplund et al.'s values is Z=0.0123. Asplund et al. say 0.0122, but I'm using the rounded-to-whole atomic masses for the calculation. In either case, 0.0123 is really low compared to the 0.02 that we have been used to using.
The fiducial atomic weights are just the rounded-to-integer atomic weight of most abundant solar isotope. The solar atomic weights are solar composition average more or less I assume. The solar atomic weights are from Wolfson and Pasachoff, except the H and He weights are the H-1 and He-4 weights from Enge (p. 528). I'd rather use those than mix in the other isotopes of H and He. I never finished typing these numbers in. I should probably get good values from somewhere sometime. But the fiducial atomic weight are probably good for supernovae where the actual isotopic average is uncertain.
