Einstein Quotations

Einstein became a sort of guru and as such indulged himself in aphorisms---or at least so they are perceived. Only some appeal to me, and present those here. Some are quoted from memory.

I've arranged them alphabetically not counting ``the'' and ``a/an''.

Quotes

1. ``A theory should be as simple as possible, but not simpler.''---from memory.

2. ``The hardest thing in the world to understand is the income tax.''--- from Kevin Harris' compilation. It's not particularly witty or original, but it expresses a profound truth.

3. ``When I was young I despised all authority---and I have been punished for it by having been made into an authority myself.''---from memory. This is my favorite Einstein quote.
