Population synthesis of compact objects: neutron stars,
strange (quark) stars and black holes
---most compact objects should be below 2 M_sun, but black holes
(or gravastars) may have peak at 10 M_sun. If quark stars
exist at all in some low mass mass range, then they could
be as populous as black holes. They don't count white dwarfs
as compact objects.
