Dave's Life at Rice

While I've enjoyed baking in the Las Vegas heat this summer, I usually steam in Houston where I'm
enrolled as an undergraduate at Rice University.   I'll be living off-campus during the 97-98 school year, but I'm still a proud member of Wiess College.  TFW !

I currently plan on pursuing a B.A. in Physics with a biophysics option.  I'm currently registered as an EGG (undeclared engineering student), but I decided early in the first semester that I wanted more flexibility in my curriculum than an engineering degree offered.  Aside from physics, my favorite areas of study are: (not necessarily in order) organic chemistry, music, international relations, national politics, and economics.  I enjoy attending musical and theatre performances and try to do so both on and off campus.

This year, I'll be joining the George R. Brown Forensic Society, which means that I'll spend a good portion of my weekend time at speech and debate tournaments.  I managed to stay away from forensics for an entire year, but I knew that I would return sooner or later.

There's much more to tell about my life in William Rice's Marsh, but hopefully I'll have a homepage set up there by the end of September 1997 that I can update regularly.  Try this link after September '97  : Dave's best guess at a future home page URL.  If it doesn't work use the Rice University link and search the directory for dbsommer.
