Laura Fiorentino, an REU student from the University of Georgia, worked in the laboratory of Prof. David Shelton. Fiorentino used rf sputtering to deposit thin films of silicon oxide and silicon nitride, and produced surfaces that were subsequently used in a Fabry-Perot interferometer.
