Submission Guidelines for Conversation at Joe's
I didn't originally expect to receive any "submissions" for this page;
I expected to build it by going out begging. <g> But, since it
has now come up, I think it wise that I post guidelines (not rules) for
what I am looking for for Conversation at Joe's. The last thing I
want to do is hurt anyone by saying "no, thank you" to a submission.
So here are the elements I look for in a story for this page:
-
The entire story (or darn near) should be set in one of Joe's bars and/or
its immediate surroundings, e.g. the office, kitchen, stockroom, or parking
lot.
-
There should be more Highlander canon characters than other characters
in the story. I won't rule out crossovers, but this is a Highlander
page, so I'd like to see the Highlander characters dominate.
-
The rating must be no higher than R, and preferably PG-13 or lower.
It's not that I insist on a gen site philosophically, but I'm using a State-sponsored
server, and I don't want to be found posting anything which could remotely
be considered pornographic. The copyright violation inherent in fanfiction
is bad enough.
-
Stories which do not stand alone well are somewhat problematical, to me.
I might say no, thank you to a story which has many references to other
stories.
But other than that, hey, send me your stuff! Also, I appreciate
recommendations of stories. I can then go to the story's author and
ask for permission to use it.
