Abstract
I will discuss the recent observations of neutron stars and black
holes. In particular the compact object masses will be presented.
The rather low mass of neutron stars in double neutron star binaries
puts rather striking constraints on short Gamma-ray burst models.
The recent measurement of the black mass in an extragalactic binary
in IC10 may have very important implications for gravitational-wave
observatories like LIGO or VIRGO.
