The University of Nevada, Las Vegas is accepting applications for a postdoctoral scholar appointment to conduct theoretical astrophysics research in collaboration primarily with Prof. Ken Nagamine. The scholar is expected to work on the topic of AGN feedback effects on galaxy formation using cosmological hydrodynamic simulations. This position is based on a 3-yr NSF grant on this topic, and the later stage of the project involves a close collaboration with Prof. Daniel Proga as well.
Previous experience in computational cosmology/astrophysics is an advantage. A Ph.D. in Astronomy or related field from an accredited college or university is required. Salary will be commensurate with labor market. The position is initially for one year, and may be extended to multi-years contingent upon funding and satisfactory performance.
