John's Critter Page

After purchasing a Mindstorm kit and building my first critter it seemed standard to make a web page for it.

Currently the critter just runs into things, backs up, and turns to avoid hitting the thing again and will vary its behavior to try to avoid getting permanently stuck maneuvering in a corner. It beeps when it sees a darker spot on the floor. Basically I built a $200 carpet stain detector.

I programmed the critter using NQC on a FreeBSD box rather than the software provided with the kit. Unfortunately Lego supplies software that requires system software from a certain unsavory software company. You can grab my first cheesy NQC program from here.
