   I think this is a great book: scholarly, but accessible to the layperson.

   A lot of inference is needed to figure out just what some of the Prescratics actually thought. Maybe David Furley is too clever, but everything seems right as rain to me.

   Furley never seems to have brought out the 2nd volume.
